Every Christmas season, Orchard Road comes alive with dazzling lights and millions of visitors basking in the festive atmosphere. Friends, families, locals and tourists gather along this famous shopping street for catch-ups, celebrations, or simply to have fun!
As the main sponsor of the Christmas Light-Up for the 35th consecutive year, Hitachi is honoured to continue this tradition of bringing people together to soak up the festivities along the iconic shopping district.
This year’s Christmas is particularly special as it also marks Singapore’s 60th birthday. As our nation prospers with steady economic growth, Orchard Road has gradually become a symbolic gathering place where people from all walks of life and diverse nationalities come together to shop, dine and rejoice in the season of giving.
Spreading the Christmas joy with everyone is one of the many ways Hitachi gives back to society. Through Social Innovation, we continue to strive to improve the quality of life for Singaporeans and communities across the region.

Season of Love and Giving
As part of our annual outreach to support charitable causes, Hitachi and its Group of Companies have raised funds to uplift the spirits and improve the lives of beneficiaries under the Community Chest.
The funds raised will support a wide range of causes, including adults with disabilities, children with special needs, youths at risk, needy families, persons with mental health conditions, and seniors in need.

Lighting Up Wishes as One Hitachi
In the ninth edition of Hitachi Plays Santa, we are bringing smiles to around 200 children from the South Central Community Family Service Centre! This year, Hitachi volunteers are playing Santa to grant Christmas wishes to children from low-income and vulnerable families — because we believe that what’s next starts with us, in small gestures of kindness that bring comfort and joy to a child’s day.
To make this season even more special, volunteers will join the children and their families at the Christmas Village for an evening of free carnival rides, funfair games, and the enchanting experience of viewing Orchard Road’s illumination up close on an open-top bus ride.
Guided by our brand tagline, Inspire the next, we hope to create warm memories for these children and inspire them to look forward to their future with optimism.
